Amritsar, 8 December: Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal's attacker, Narain Singh Chora, was presented in court today after the end of his remand. The court again remanded Chora to three days of police custody.
At Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, Narain Singh Chora had suddenly fired shots at Sukhbir Singh Badal, who was performing seva (service). The police officers present at the scene immediately tried to control Chora, but he fired shots. Due to the police's alertness, the bullet instead hit the bell tower gate of Sri Harmandir Sahib, which helped prevent harm to Badal.
