Fresno (USA) November 18: Punjabis achieved great success at the World Power Lifting Championship held in Las Vegas, America, winning three gold medals and bringing glory not only to Punjab but to all of India. IBF Asia President Harvinder Singh Salina said that athletes from countries around the world participated in this championship. Similarly, he had also arrived at this championship with his team. In this championship, Amanparkash Tony sandhu, a native of Abohar, Punjab, participated in the 90 kg weight category competitions. This Punjabi athlete created history by winning three gold medals and brought glory to Punjab. He informed that with this victory, Prakash Tony has qualified for the Olympic Games being held next year in 2025.
Harvinder Singh Salina said that sports are extremely important for humans and Punjabis have a distinct identity in sports. Previously too, Punjabis have achieved great milestones in the field of sports bringing glory to their country, and now too, Punjab’s youth are achieving great success. He said that winning three medals in the World Championship held in America by a Punjab youth is a great achievement in itself. This achievement of Tony Sandhu will also provide new direction to other youth. Harvinder Singh Salina announced that Tony Sandhu will also be honored upon reaching Punjab. He informed that many players of the Salina team have already achieved success at the world level. When any youth achieves such a big accomplishment, they feel more proud of their team. Harvinder Singh Salina also congratulated Prakash Tony’s parents, who provided a good environment for their child’s success.
