Firozepur, 5 December: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced that the Hussainiwala Border will be developed as a modern tourist destination. Participating in the Retreat Ceremony at the India-Pakistan border, the Chief Minister expressed his desire to make this historic location an attractive place for the world.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to provide an attractive appearance to the land of martyrs and develop this place for tourism. He met with Border Security Force (BSF) officers and asked them to make efforts to enhance the beauty of this location. Mann announced that the site will be developed in an ultra-modern manner to attract more tourists from far and wide and inspire them with the thoughts of martyr Bhagat Singh.
Mann said that while many people go to the Wagah Border to watch the Retreat Ceremony, tourist footfall is comparatively less at Hussainiwala and Sulemanki. Therefore, these locations should also be made more appealing.
There is also a museum at Hussainiwala, which houses the pistol used by Bhagat Singh to shoot Sanders. The Punjab government will initiate efforts to make this site, associated with martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, an attractive destination worldwide. He stated that the government is making efforts to preserve the martyrs’ heritage. Previously, the Mohali Airport was named after Bhagat Singh, and a 30-foot-tall statue of Bhagat Singh has also been installed at the airport.
