Chandigarh, June 27 -In the meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC), and High Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC) held here today under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, approval was granted for contracts and procurement of various goods worth over Rs 718 crores . Following negotiations with various bidders, the committees succeeded in saving over Rs 26 crores by finalizing reduced rates during the meeting. The facility has been built at a cost of Rs. 95 crores and is spread over an area of approximately 50 acres. Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Jails Criminal Investigation and Administration of Justice, Dr. Sumita Misra, shared that the new jail complex addresses a longstanding gap in prison infrastructure in Rewari.
