Chandigarh, 6 December: The Aam Aadmi Party Punjab has appealed to the central government to resolve the farmers’ demands, emphasizing that farmers are the backbone of the country’s development. They should be addressed immediately.

Aman Arora, the president of AAP Punjab, stated that farmers have been sitting at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders for the past 10 months, but their concerns have not been heard. He highlighted that Punjab farmers have been conducting peaceful protests for their legitimate demands for the past 10 months.

Arora mentioned that the Punjab government has made several appeals to the central government to resolve farmers’ issues. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has also offered mediation multiple times to facilitate dialogue between farmers and the central government. However, the central government’s stance has consistently remained uncooperative.

Condemning the prohibition orders against farmers’ protests, Arora noted that farmers in Punjab and Haryana face similar challenges. He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s anti-farmer approach, stating that farmers are the backbone of the country who feed the entire nation.

Arora appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing that farmers are a significant part of the country. He argued that every citizen has the right to enter the national capital, New Delhi, and preventing farmers from doing so is a grave injustice.

He urged the central government to engage in dialogue with farmers and resolve their issues peacefully. Arora suggested that the BJP needs to change its perception of farmers, whom they currently view as adversaries, which is contrary to democratic principles.

Punjab’s Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema also condemned the hostile treatment of farmers by the central government. He emphasized that human survival is impossible without farmers and criticized the BJP’s consistent discrimination against them.

Cheema stated that the AAP government in Punjab is making efforts to resolve farmers’ issues, but the central government, controlled by the BJP, is providing no cooperation in addressing farmers’ concerns.
