National Panchayati Raj Day marks Major Milestones for Haryana’s Panchayats
Chandigarh, April 24 : On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day, Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini gave a development bonanza worth Rs. 368 crore to the state's panchayats. During the state-level ‘Gram Utthan Samaroh’ held in Panchkula, the Chief Minister inaugurated 923 development works worth Rs. 233 crore and laid the foundation stones for 413 works worth Rs. 135 crore. Further strengthening grassroots governance, the Chief Minister also transferred Rs. 573 crore to 22 Zila Parishads, 142 Panchayat Samitis, and 5,388 Gram Panchayats as their share of stamp duty revenue. In addition, the Chief Minister released Rs. 18.28 crore for the construction of Mahila Chaupals in 511 Gram Panchayats.
