Workshop of Obstetrics and Gynecolog in Faridkot

Faridkot : Today a training of medical officers and staff nurses of district Faridkot was conducted by the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Guru Gobind Singh Medical college & Hospital, Faridkot. The aim of this workshop was to decrease maternal morbidity and mortality in postpartum harmorrhage using simple innovations like uterine balloon for tamponade and antishock garmentThis training is part of the ongoing project in district Bathinda and Faridkot, which has been started obstetrics and Gynecology department of Aiims Bathinda.The programme was presided over by Dr. Nirmal Ousseppachan IAS ,registrar BFUHS as the chief guest.
Dignitaries gracing the occasion were , prof.Dr Rajeev Sharma, principal GGSMCH, Dr Shleikh Mittal medical superintendent GGSMCH, Dr Sanjay Kapoor Civil Surgeon Faridkot and Dr.Chandershekhar DFPO.
Prof Dr Lajya Devi Goyal , HOD OB/GY AIIMS Bhatinda , briefed everyone about the project and its importance.
DR Jatinder Kaur Arora Executive Director PSCST , appreciated this initiative over a zoom session.
16 participants including staff nurses and medical officers from different CHC’S and PHC’S and 14 participants from GGSMCH were provided hands on training.
Training sessions were taken by Dr Dheera DMC Civil hospital Faridkot, prof.Dr Seema Grover Bhatti HOD OB/GY GGSMCH and prof. Dr Parveen Rajora .
This workshop and its further ramifications, will lend a helping hand in bringing down the maternal mortality rate in the state of Punjab.
