Faridkot : GGSMCH, Faridkot got approval for 150 MBBS seats. Previously the college was admitting students per year when the college was started in 1973, only 50 students were getting admission. With gradual progression and vision of administration in 2013, the college got approval for 100 seats which were further increased in 2019 the college got approval for 125 seats. Dr Avinish Kumar VC, BFUHS Cum DRME Punjab said that the administration of the University and College is not leaving any stone unturned to benefiting the community and people of Punjab. On this occasion Dr Nirmal Ouseppachan IAS, Registrar BFUHS, Faridkot expressed that GGS Medical College Faridkot constitute college of BFUHS only medical college in the region serving its services to 7 districts of Punjab and having about 100 post graduate seats in various subjects and only Govt. Medical College in Punjab having MCH Plastic Surgery superspeciaity.
Dr Rajiv Sharma, Principal GGSMCH, Faridkot expressed that GGS Medical College Faridkot is teaching students with the students of MBBS, BSc medical, MSc Medical and other streams with the best possible methods and modern technology, so that the students can become best doctor on the future. He also expressed his satisfaction that the faculty of GGSMCH worked very hard to teach students and effort of to get approval for 150 seats. Dr Shilekh Mittal, Medical Superintendent GGSMCH said that our hospital served very well during the covid crisis and now we are having more than 1000 beds including Med ICU, Surgery ICU, Neurology ICU, Neurosurgery ICU, NICU, PICU with various speciality and super specialty departments. Soon a block of Modular OTs will start operational in hospital.
