Patiala : Patiala MLA Preneet Kaur on Wednesday said Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh was committed to taking the Badals to task for all their misdeeds once the party comes to power in the state.
Addressing an election meeting organized by Nikhil Kumar Kak, vice president of Youth Congress Patiala unit, Preneet said the father-son Badal duo had pushed the state into total devastation, with their only interest centered on promoting their family businesses. Captain Amarinder, who is contesting from Patiala along with Lambi in these assembly polls, will not spare the Badals for their wrongdoings, said Preneet.
Lashing out at the Badals for the rampant drug menace in Punjab, Preneet said Captain Amarinder was committed to wiping drugs out of the start within four weeks of taking over the reins of the state. Whoever is found guilty of patronizing the drug mafia would be thrown behind bars, she promised, exhorting the people to vote for the Congress to bring Punjab back on the track of development and progress.
Preneet described the Congress manifesto as a vision document seeking to address the concerns of every section of the society, which had been suffering immensely under the Badal regime. She cited the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Employment Generation scheme for the youth, and added that industrial revival was also on top of the Congress agenda to put Punjab’s growth back on track through financial and economic reforms.
